Japanese artists Asaka, MYTH & ROID coming to PH for Cosplay Mania 2019

Japanese singer Asaka and musical unit MYTH & ROID are coming to Manila to perform in the upcoming Cosplay Mania 2019 event this September.

Cosplay.ph, organizer of the event made the announcement during Anime & Cosplay Expo 2019 on Sunday. The two artists are set to perform at the Japanese Anime Music, also known as the JAM Concert of the event.

Apart from the music performers, the organizer announced a day before that Japanese stage actor Allen Kohatsu will come to the event as a guest.

MYTH & ROID is Japanese musical unit composed by music producer Tom-H@ck and lyricist hotaru, with multiple vocalists. The band debut in 2015 with the release of its first single ‘L.L.L’, the ending theme to the Overlord anime series. Since then, they performed several theme for various anime series such as Overlord, Boogiepop wa Warawanai (2019), BBK/BRNK, Saga of Tanya the Evil and Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World.

Asaka is a Japanese singer from Nagoya. She made her professional singer debut in 2016 when she release her first single “Open your eyes”, the ending theme to the Occultic;Nine anime series. Since then, she has performed theme songs for several anime series such A Centaur’s Life, Laid-Back Camp and ISLAND.

Allen Kohatsu is a Japanese stage actor who is known for playing Iwaizumi Hajime in the second production of the Hyper Projection Play “Haikyuu!!” stage play. He replaced Yuya Hirata from the first production. Kohatsu has been in a variety of stage productions which includes Glass Mask, Gurrenn Lagann and K Project.

Asaka, MYTH & ROID and Kohatsu will join the earlier announced cosplayer guests in the event. It includes Singaporean cosplayers Reakami and Boiled Curry; and Japanese cosplay duo Venas Japan.

The organizer will be announcing more special guests and Japanese artists on later days.

Cosplay Mania 2019 will celebrate its 11th year on September 28-29, 2019 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, SM Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City. Tickets are now on sale via the SM ticket website.
