According to US entertainment site, Hollywood Reporter, Warner’s live action adaptation of anime Akira is being shut down due to of casting, script and budget issues.
Website further reports that production offices in Vancouver are being closed, with below-the-line talent and crew told to stop working. Producers Jennifer Kiloran Davisson and Andrew Lazar will try to iron-out the script in the next two week.
Despite these, film is not dead, yet according to Warner insider.
