The 6th TAGCOM – Toys, Anime, Gaming, Cosplay, and Movies Convention was held last March 31, 30 and April 1 at  the Main Atrium of Robinsons Midtown Mall, Malate, Manila.

The 3-day event was organized by Hobbiworx Inc. in cooperation with Robinsons Midtown Mall and day 3 of the event featured the most awaited individual and group cosplay competition. I was not able to attend day 1 & 2 of TAGCOM due to business trips outside of Manila, however, it didn’t matter because the organizers managed to held the event for 3 days like last year.

The main atrium of Robinson Midtown still swarms with booths selling various anime goods, Gundam model kits, comic books, toys, costumes and even rare collectibles. Toy auctions were also held in the event with different items being auctioned for as low as Php 1.

Toy dioramas and displays were also present and they are found in front of the venue near the stage. Unlike last year, this year was much less toy figures and smaller dioramas presented.

Justice League-inspired cosplay group, JusticePH led by Pinoy Superman, Herbert Chavez and The Flash, Glen Antonio is also in the venue as the group marked their first year anniversary in the community.

Cosplay competition started at around 3:00 PM. The historical reenactment category went first and then quickly followed by the individual cosplay competition. Eight participants cosplaying military uniforms and historical figures participated for the first category while a total of 150 cosplayers registered for the individual cosplay. Unfortunately, out of the 150, about a half of the registered cosplayers participated in the competition.

The group cosplay competition turned into a cosplay showcase as one group had to back-out. Team Tobi Domination presented their skit.
