Cable anime channel HERO TV in partnership with Anime Alliance presented HERO Face-Off 2012 which was held last July 7 at Megatrade Hall 1, SM Megamall Mandaluyong City.
The event featured free exclusive screening of HERO TV’s two anime titles – Gintama the Movie and Yu-Gi-Oh 3D Bonds beyond Time – free popcorn and softdrinks included.
Later in the afternoon, the highlight of the event – the Ultimate Cosplay Battle – was held. The cosplay event was divided into three categories – the Kids Squad category , the League of Heroes categories and the Face Off category old and considered as the ultimate category.
With 19 participants joined the Kids Squads category, 9 groups performed for the League of Heroes and 81 cosplayers run the catwalk for the Face-Off category, here are the individuals and groups who won in their respective category:

Here is the winning skit of League of Heroes champions, The Angry Birds.
Ira Orduna took home Php 30,000 plus she will be flying to Singapore along with 2011 Hero Face Off Champion Dyerik Torres, who will be cosplaying Dissidia – Warrior Of Light from Final Fantasy.
They will be participating Cosplay @ SGTCC, one of the highlights of this year’s Singapore Toy, Games & Comic Convention to be held on September 1,2 at Sands Expo and Convention Center, Marina Bay, Singapore.
Cross-dressing, make-up wearing, all-male band Tanya Markova performed on stage afterwards. Among their distinctive singles were Picture Picture, Da Facebook Song and Disney.
Overall, the production was very smooth, as expected from the HERO TV and interestingly, the schedule was followed and the event was even ended earlier than expected.
Unfortunately, the organizers underestimated the number of people who will attend the event. With people started to arrive later in the afternoon, Megatrade Hall 1 was literally jam-packed from inside resulting to barring of people without wrist bands from entering the cosplay venue. Not to mention, lot of cosplayers, photographers and con-goers loitered around outside the venue and long queues to sponsored booth.
In the end, HERO Face Off 2013 will need a bigger venue.
