Official Youtube channel has posted two new 60-second TV ads for the upcoming live-action adaptation of chanbara/action film, Rurouni Kenshin.
The “Nadeshiko” ad featured the film’s two main female characters, the fox lady Megumi Takani and Kenshin’s love interest/heroine Kaoru Kamiya.
The “Samurai” ad focused on film’s protagonist, Kenshin Himura, his past and upcoming battle with vagrant hitokiri Jine Udo.
Two more promotional videos were posted by Japanese websites Cinema Today and Comic Natalie.
One video featured more Kenshin Himura’s scenes from the movie while the other video focused on opium dealer, Kanryū Takeda, who forces Takani Megumi to make a stronger opium drug for his profits.
Film is directed by Keishi Otomo with casts Takeru Satoh (Kamen Rider Den-O, Ryomaden) as Kenshin Himura, Emi Takei as Kaoru Kamiya, Yuu Aoi as Megumi (Hana and Alice, Honey and Clover), Munetaka Aoki (The Last Message Umizaru, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time) as Sanosuke Sagara, and Taketo Tanaka as Yahiko Myōjin.
Film is set to premiere on August 25.
