Toei Animation chairman Kozo Morishita in a trade event in France announced that a computer-animated film based on the mythological fantasy manga series Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiak is in the works.

Morishita said that TOEI is already in the talks to various Japanese outfits for the project and it also includes video game companies for a possible game development. He is hoping that the production will be completed in July next year. A 13-minute promo for the film is set to produce before the year ends.

Furthermore, TOEI is also considering the possibility of an anime series after the movie release. The movie will “test the appetite of audience and limit risks” .

It was earlier announced that the film will be directed Keiichi Satou (Tiger and Bunny) while  Tomohiro Suzuki (Tiger and Bunny) will be writing the film’s screenplay.
