This year’s 51st issue of Shonen Sunday magazine has revealed details  about the new film adaptation of the mystery-adventure anime series Detective Conan.

The 17th Detective Conan film is titled “Meitantei Conan: Zekkai no Private Eye” (Detective Conan: Private Eye in the Distant Sea).

It is set on a state-of-the art Aegis vessel with the full cooperation of Japan’s Ministry of Defense and Maritime Self-Defense Force. The heroine Ran is put in jeopardy, and Conan is forced to stand up against a dangerous criminal.

Film is set to premiere April 20, 2013 in TOHO theaters throughout Japan.
