Japanese visual kei band Uchusentai Noiz has returned to the Philippines last Thursday to perform again for their ‘Space babies’, monicker for their fans, in the country.
Thr Best of Anime Summer Live is an event organized by Primetrade Asia, the organizer of one of the most anticipated anime conventions in the country, The Best of Anime. It consisted of two concerts, one held in Manila and one in Davao.
animeph project is privileged to cover the concert as one of its media partner which was held May 1 at the Metro Tent, Metro Walk in Pasig City.
Before the main concert which was scheduled at 6PM, the organizers prepared various activities for those who came early.
There was a Dubbing Workshop led by Filipino vetetan voice actors Jefferson Utanes and Filipino Pamintuan. Jrock cover bands Seiteki and Evening Tea Time provided the entertainment with their cover songs coming from classic and latest anime series.
The judges of the Individual Karaoke Contest had a hard time deciding the winner of contest. Two contestants tied for first placer which a resulted a face off. The winner is a little boy is wearing a Dragon ball Z costume who is also one of the finalists and the winner Jpop Anime Singing Contest last year.
Christian Umali, Izaiah Luke Buelos and Sacha Daet won triumphantly in the Individual Cosplay Competition with their detailed costumes, great performances and applause from the audience.
J-idol group Starmarie was also present at the event. The cuteness of Shino-chan and charm of Non-chan really stand out during their 30-45 minute perform. The audience were shot back to the past with their rendition of Siam Shade’s 1/3 No Junjou Na Kanjou. They had their meet and greet with fans afterwards.
The most awaited concert came and the fans who were waiting gathered in front in stage to see their favorite band Uchusentai Noiz perform.
Angel-taka and the gang performed three OPM songs,Kamikazee’s Narda, Rivermaya’s Liwanag sa Dilim and Orange and Lemons’ Pinoy Ako. They also performed some songs from their previous albums. ABS-CBN host Mark Logan described them as a band with a big filipino heart because band’s lead vocalist Angel-taka took an effort to visit Yolanda-stricten Tacloban early this year. The songs were dedicated to the survivors of the typhoon. In 2006, the band also donated toothbrushes to kids in an orphan home in Davao.
The concert ended with their encore song High Five where member Masato and Kotaro had a piece with the audience.
