Pioneer Films has announced  through CinemaBravo.com yesterday that anime film Kimi No Nawa. will be released in Philippine cinemas.

According to Facebook page Viewer’s Choice Philippines, Shinka Makoto’s latest hit film will hit local theaters next month, but no specific premiere date yet. The movie was also announced to screen in original Japanese dub with subtitles.

In a message to AnimePH, they said to stay tune for more details.

Kimi No Nawa. (your name.) is the latest Japanese animated film written and directed by Makoto Shinkai which premiered last August 26.

It is a story of a high school student in the rural countryside, Mitsuha Miyamizu and a teenager living in Tokyo, Taki Tachibana as their dreams and lives start getting entangled when a comet approaches Earth. One day, Mitsuha wakes up as Taki. Taki one day wakes up as Mitsuha. For a few days they sporadically switch bodies until one afternoon they lose complete contact.

As of last week, the movie has earned 17.97 billion yen  (about US$172 million) and has become the fourth highest-grossing Japanese film in Japan, and the fourth highest-grossing anime film in Japan.

  1. I’m worried about the effects. PH movies have poor effect tbh. But I’m still looking forward to it. Lets pray to god that it’s not bad. Cross fingers. 😀

  2. What could go wrong showing it on Manila Film Fest and all those pirates hahahahuhu 🙁 Hoping it would still have good sales
