Update: “Kimi No Nawa” to finally release in PH

(Update: 12/12/2016)  Japanese hit anime film “Kimi No Nawa.” (Your Name) will  finally be released in Philippine cinemas this week. The movie will be shown starting December 14 according the SM Cinema website. More here.

(Update: 12/2/2016) The earlier reported release date of anime movie “Your Name” (Kimi no Na wa) is still pending.

According to the Viewers Choice Philippines Facebook page, this is”due to pending issues with the Metro Manila Film Festival that affected movie booking schedules.”

They also said to “keep on calling your favorite cinemas to convince them to book the movie the soonest.”

Pioneer Films has announced yesterday the Philippine release date for anime film “Kimi No Nawa” (Your Name.)

The movie will premiere on December 14 in local cinemas nationwide and it will be screened in original Japanese dub with English subtitles.

Kimi No Nawa. (your name.) is the latest Japanese animated film written and directed by Makoto Shinkai which premiered last August 26.

It is a story of a high school student in the rural countryside, Mitsuha Miyamizu and a teenager living in Tokyo, Taki Tachibana as their dreams and lives start getting entangled when a comet approaches Earth. One day, Mitsuha wakes up as Taki. Taki one day wakes up as Mitsuha. For a few days they sporadically switch bodies until one afternoon they lose complete contact.
