“Tagalized” Japanese films featured on Eiga Sai 2017

The Japan Foundation, Manila revealed on Tuesday that this year’s Japanese Film Festival – Eiga Sai 2017 will feature three Japanese films dubbed in Tagalog. This is the first in the history of the Japanese Film Festival that it will feature tagalized or Tagalog-dubbed movies. This is made possible in cooperation with TMC, Tagalized Movie Channel.

The films are scheduled to screen on July 14 at Edsa Shang Cineplex. Here are the screening schedules: Sadako vs. Kayako at 1:30PM, If Cats Disappeared from the World at 4:30PM and Bakuman at 7:30PM.

The Sadako vs. Kayako film revolves around a university student, who plays a cursed video and unleashes the evil within, while a high school student enters the cursed house where people have gone missing.

If Cats Disappeared from the World (Sekai kara neko ga kietanara) tells the story of a dying postman who strikes a deal with the devil. Every time he allows the devil to erase something from the face of the earth, he will get to live another day. But those that are being taken away are associated with the people dear to him. Japanese superstar Takeru Satoh stars in the leading role.

Another Satoh film, Bakuman portrays the struggle of two friend who want to become successful manga creators.

Admission is free on a first come, first-served basis. All above-mentioned movies will premiere soon on Philippine TV via TMC. TMC is available on Sky Cable Ch. 80 and Destiny Ch 74.
