Filipino-Japanese pop idol Sayaka Awane announced on Monday her graduation from Filipino idol group MNL48.
In a statement released on the official website, Sayaka and her family have decided to officially leave the idol group to relocate in Japan and pursue other personal endeavors.
She also made the announcement on their online daily show.
“Mnloveski, sana wag kayong malungkot kahit wala na ako, hindi naman sa wala, part pa rin ako ng MNL48 pero ga-graduate na ako. Pero pwede pa rin naman nila ako makita and maging happy pill pa rin nila. Sana maging happy pa rin kayo, nandiyan naman yung mga ibang sisters ko.” she said to her fans.
With this development, Princess Briquillo from the Kenkyuusei is promoted as member of Team MII.
Sayaka was among the popular members according to the results of the Second General Election, which she places fifth spot.
She will leave the group, after her final performance on June 9 at the Movie Stars Cafe.
Sayaka is the second idol who left the group after the Second General Election. The first one was Quincy Santillan.
