Hit anime films, “Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms” and Makoto Shinkai’s “Weathering With You” are set to air on Kapamilya Channel this Holy Week.
This is according to promotional videos aired on the channel, which announces its special shows this upcoming Lenten season. Skycable, a local telecommunication and cable provider, also unveils through its electronic program guide the shows’ schedule this week.
Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms and Weathering With You will premiere on Maundy Thursday (April 1) and Black Saturday (April 2), respectively at 6AM. Your Name will also air on the channel on Good Friday (April 2).
Maquia tells a story an immortal girl and a normal boy, who meet and become friends, sharing a bond that lasts throughout the years.
Your Name and Weathering With You are two of Makoto Shinkai’s hit and latest anime films.
Weathering With You revolves around a high school student named Hodaka, who find a job in Tokyo as a writer for a shady occult magazine. He meets a young woman named Hina, who has the power to manipulate the weather. The film opened in the Philippines last August 2019.

Your Name follows the story of high schoolers, Mitsuha and Taki, two complete strangers living their separate lives who suddenly wakes up to each other’s bodies after a meteor shower. The film was first screened in Philippine theaters in 2016. It aired on ABS-CBN last Holy Week.
Kapamilya Channel is described as a 24-hour channel that airs programs that have been produced or acquired by ABS-CBN.
