Cosplay Carnival 2025 ushered in a fresh season of anime and cosplay excitement on March 22-23 at SMX Convention Center, Pasay City. The event, themed “Spring Serenade,” marked the start of the “Seasons of Cosplay” series, delivering two days of performances, competitions, and exclusive guest appearances.
A key highlight was the debut of the Japanese Anime Concert (JAM) at Cosplay Carnival. Previously exclusive to Cosplay Mania, the concert featured Japanese singer Akase Akari, known for Koi no Yukue (My Dress-Up Darling), and voice actress Shuka Saito, famed for Love Live! Sunshine!!. Fans also enjoyed a special performance of anime theme songs, including 36°c/papapa from Oresuki.
Cosplayers took center stage in competitions like Cosplay Karaoke, Cosplay Group Battle, and Frenemy Feud, while attendees explored over a hundred exhibit booths filled with anime and gaming merchandise. The Cosplay Auction offered exclusive collectibles, and All-Star Avenue allowed fans to meet top cosplayers and secure autographs.
Hong Kong-based international cosplayer Baobao made her Philippine debut, captivating attendees with her portrayals of Asuna (Sword Art Online) and Tifa (Final Fantasy VII). Fans engaged with her at meet-and-greet sessions.
Cosplay Carnival 2025 also introduced new ticketing options, including the Shopper’s Pass (₱99) for evening exhibit access and the Silver Portal Pass (₱999) with exclusive early entry and perks. The Gold Ticket (₱1,499) provided standing access to the JAM Concert, while VIP packages at ₱2,999 included reserved seating.
As Cosplay Carnival concluded, organizers announced the next major event, Fanfes 2025 – Summer Spectacular, happening on May 17-18 at The Space, One Ayala, Makati. International cosplayer RITHE is set to appear, bringing more excitement to the cosplay community.
Now in its seventh year, Cosplay Carnival continues to grow as one of the Philippines’ most awaited cosplay conventions, setting the stage for more thrilling events like Cosplay Mania in October.
